Techy things you may need to know for your stay at Dreams Come True Cottage:

General Guidelines

  • IMPORTANT - Children may not use any equipment. Parental supervision is required.
  • DO NOT change or move any equipment. One HDMI cable is provided for your gaming enjoyment.
  • Guests are reminded to bring their own Bluetooth speakers and other technology devices that are important to them during their stay.
  • Guests are reminded to bring their login information for any streaming services they want to enjoy during their stay. Guests that utilize cable or satellite providers at home should bring their login information as well, as these logins will give them access to their content when streaming at Dreams Come True Cottage (e.g. - bring your DirecTV login information so that you can stream ABC, Bravo, or HGTV, for example).

Internet/Wi-fi

  • We use Verizon Fios as our internet provider. The service speed is stated to average 300 Mbps and is generally sufficient to enjoy watching HD content on three or more devices simultaneously.
  • The password is posted on the wall beside the TV (located in the family room on the 2nd floor).
  • Problems with wi-fi? DO NOT attempt to reset the router, as doing so will reset the network name and password to factory settings, making resolution more difficult.
  • The router is located in the family room and a signal booster is in the primary bedroom. Please do not touch these devices.
  • Although very reliable in our area, access to the internet is provided by Verizon Fios and cannot be guaranteed. Additionally, service response times cannot be guaranteed. Guests are reminded that their cellular mobile hotspot may be a good alternate source of wifi internet if Verizon Fios service resolution is delayed.

Television Options

  • The 65" Samsung Smart TV is located in the family room.
  • There is a SOURCE button on the TV remote. This is where guests can toggle between each TV connection (HDMI, etc).
  • The TV connections are as follows:
    • TV - This setting is not in use and will display "snow" and a message "Weak or No Signal". This message is referring to a lack of cable TV connection and not any actual problem with the TV.
    • HDMI1 - This setting is for our exterior security camera. Guests have no need for this connection.
    • HDMI3 - This is for Roku Express 4k Plus streaming.
    • HDMI4 - This is for your gaming equipment. The cable is marked with a tag.
    • Screen Mirroring - This setting is an option for guests who wish to connect their own device to appear on the TV.
    • HDMI2 - This setting is not in use
    • AV - This setting is not in use
    • Component - This setting is not in use
    • RVU - This setting is not in use.
