Check-In Time

Green Cottage Arrival Instructions

Check-in time is 4pm. Most often we have guests leaving the morning that another guest is checking in. We need the time between guests to get the cottage and yard ready. If you'd like to check-in early, let's talk a day or two before your arrival to see if it's even a possibility.

Driving Instructions

The Green Cottage address is 335 US Route 2 in Grand Isle, Vermont. However, you will be accessing the parking area for the cottage off of Irish Rover Lane. If you are coming from the south (Interstate 89 in Vermont or the Grand Isle Ferry), you will turn left onto Irish Rover Lane. If you're coming from the north (Rouses Point, NY and Swanton, VT), you will turn right onto Irish Rover Lane. We're on an island so you can only be coming from these 2 directions.

Once on Irish Rover Lane, you'll be facing the lake. Drive forward until you pass a utility pole on the right. Turn right onto the lawn and pull forward until you reach the lantern on a pole and a saw horse. Please do not drive any more forward than these markers. You'll have a hedge on your left, our big detached garage just in front of you and the Green Cottage will just be forward and to your left. Our house is immediately to the north of the cottage. There will be a garden cart in the area that you're welcome to use during your stay to move things between the parking area and the cottage.

The parking area is suitable for up to 2 vehicles and one boat trailer.

Unlocking/Locking the Cottage

The door closest to the parking area has a Schlage key pad that controls the deadbolt door lock. A code will be set in advance of your arrival to match the last 4-digits of the phone number you provided on your reservation. By entering the code correctly, the dial on the keypad will be engaged allowing you to extend and retract the deadbolt. Within a few seconds, the dial will disengage again, leaving the bolt in the last position.

To engage the dial, press the numbers and listen for the feint beep and notice a quick green LED flicker indicating successful entry. Upon the last correct number, you can use the dial.

When locking the door, you will want to pull the door toward you so that the deadbolt will align better in the door frame for a better fit and easier glide of the deadbolt.

If it's dark and you need lighting on the keypad, press the word "Schlage" at the top edge of the keypad to activate the keypad light.

To lock/unlock the door from inside, just rotate the interior deadbolt control. Do not lock the door knob lock because you won't have a key to unlock the door from outside.

Accessing Wi-Fi

The Wi-Fi code is in the Welcome Book on the desk in the Great Room.

There are 2 hard-wire Ethernet areas in the cottage. The Ethernet wire behind the TV is used with the ROKU attached to that TV. If you unplug to use on another device, you won't have TV access.

There is an Ethernet wire and jacks located in the desk area of the master bedroom.
