Set Up:

Set boards, facing each other 27 feet apart, from nearest edge to edge. Officially, cornhole can be played with 2 or 4 players. Pick a side of the board you’ll throw from. In a 4-player game, your partner will be throwing directly across from you from the other board. In a 2-player game, you will throw from left of the board and right of the board, depending on which board you are throwing from.

Now choose your bags! You should have 4 of the same color for each team.

Game Play:

Choose who goes first. Take turns with your opponent throwing bags at the facing board. The foul line is the front edge of the board you are standing beside. Your bag can not touch the ground before hitting the board. No “skippys!” Remove any skippys before the next bag is thrown. Any bag that is touching the ground from the board, “hanging chads,” also must be removed. Once all 8 bags are thrown, score and get ready for the next round.

The team that scored the most in a round goes first in the next round.

Scoring and Winning:

At the end of the round, score the bags that remain on the board.

On the board – 1 pt

In the hole – 3 pts

The total score is the number MORE than your opponents. If you scored 4 points, but your opponent scored 2 points, your score is (4 – 2=?) 2 points. If you both score the same, no points are earned for anyone. The team that scored more goes first. If no points are scored, the same team goes first that went first in the zero score round.

A game is won when a team reaches 21 points by at least 2.

A match is the best of 3 games.

Alternate Play:

8 players with 2 teams of 4. Each throws one bag.

Score 21 exactly.

Count every point, for a pre-determined number of rounds.

Every time you get a bag in a hole, finish your drink (This only gives your opponents a chance to catch up if you are drinking alcohol!)
