What to Expect When Arriving in Cozumel

Once you land in Cozumel, you will walk from the tarmac into the terminal building. There you will present the immigration forms that were provided to you on the plane, along with your passport. You will walk past the K-9's and let them sniff your carry-on luggage and then wait for your checked luggage at the carousel. Once you have your luggage, you can proceed to the scanner and put your luggage through. Once your luggage is cleared, there is a button to push, if your light is green, you are free to go, if not, they will hand inspect your luggage.

When you exit the secured area, there will be LOTS OF PEOPLE trying to "help" you with transportation. They are all sales reps for different time shares and other various companies. Proceed out the doors and look for your pre-arranged transportation, or for your rental car company. There are taxies, but they are not allowed to come onto airport property. If you proceed out to the main street, you will be able to find a taxi. There are several rental car companies with-in walking distance of the airport as well. Remember, this is a very small airport. Walking to a taxi or a rental car company is EASY!
