Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Recently renovated Vista River Lakehouse sleeps 8 in beds plus 4 on the queen air mattresses and also has a rollaway crib for a total of 13. Its a great place to visit in the summer to enjoy the water. In the fall you can enjoy the changing of the seasons with a cup of coffee. Winter you can snuggle up and enjoy the view. Spring is a great time to explore Shiloh. The Amish community is nearby. We do allow DOGS but there is a fee!
There is a full bedroom and full bath on the first floor. The master bathroom has a DEEP 6 soaker tub with jets to relax after a day of boating or exploring! It offers a detachable shower head for those who cannot get up the stairs but want to shower. There ARE a few steps leading up to the front door. In additions to the full bathroom, there is also a half bath on the first floor. It has modern farmhouse decor after its recent renovations. The floors are all durable luxury vinyl plank that is waterproof. The kitchen has a small table that comes out from the wall for meals you may want to eat inside. The kitchen is full size with all the appliances and accessories you may need in order to cook full meals. If it rains youll enjoy the sound of the rain hitting the tin roof over the covered patio! You also can cook the days catch on the grill! Wander upstairs to the loft where you will find the coffee/breakfast/wine bar where you can sit and enjoy the view of the river. If you MUST work and play there is a desk for your convenience in the loft as well which also has a view. There is a full size bathroom with a shower that has amazing water pressure and a combo tub. House Rules
***** It is understood that if you book Vista River Lakehouse and you show up for your reservation that you have read and agree to all the house rules mentioned here. If you do not agree or have intent not to follow the rules, cancelling is the best option. However, if you do keep the booking and visit Vista River Lakehouse, this is an assumptive agreement that you have read and will follow the House Rules *****
***** Please let us know of any issues when you first arrive upon your initial inspection of the property. If we don't get reports of any problems upon arrival, we are going to assume everything was to your satisfaction and you will be staying the duration of your reservation *****
We provide towels for bathing, towels for boating, hand towels in the bathroom and bath rugs. Bathroom will have a few rolls of toilet paper. Kitchen will have a roll of paper towels. If you need dish towels, please bring them with you. We also provide travel shampoo, conditioner, travel bar of soap and a tooth kit for those who may have forgotten something to begin their visit. Also provided are some basics for grilling and cooking such as seasonings. There are also basic cleaning products provided should the need arise. If you have a longer stay planned, you will need to stock as you go but for those short visits, you will likely have enough for your stay.
Unfortunately, the house rules evolve as we have issues with past guests. My apologies for the long read. These have been edited after experiences with prior guests and the comments made to us by neighbors. We try to keep your comfort level in mind but also need to mitigate any liability issues or neighbor complaints so we can continue to serve many more guests in the future. Bad apples ruin it for everyone :/ Contact us with ANY issues you may have during your stay! I'm quick to respond!
DO NOT flip the covered switches or the sideways switches by the back door in the den. The lights are all photocell and turn on and off with the sunsets and sunrises and are programmed to be on for so many hours. Flipping switches messes up the programming for other guests.
DO NOT cut on the butcher block countertops. There are cutting boards provided in the cabinets.
No Smoking inside the home or near the doors. A $500 fine will be assessed if someone smokes inside the home plus additional cleaning fees. Clean up any cigarette butts from the exterior. A $250 cleaning fee will be assessed if cigarette butts are not cleaned up.
No open flames inside the home. No candles. No incense, etc
No drug use anywhere on property.
No parties or large gatherings. Only registered guests are allowed to stay overnight.
Do not park on the street. If you need additional parking, please park in the grass to the left of the driveway. That empty lot does NOT belong to us so stay close to the driveway and please do not walk down that side of the house.
Quiet hours begin at 10P on weekdays and 12A on weekends.
Dogs are allowed with a $50 non refundable PER DOG and PER STAY fee maximum of 3 dogs. No cats due to allergies.
CLEAN UP ALL DOG POOP!!
Do not move any personal property specifically furniture and be sure to place the chairs back under the table on the patio for the next guests :)
Do not climb on or move the jet skis.
Do not unplug the patio lights. They have the time programmed on them and are set to go on and off at night. We aren't there to fix it for future guests and the cleaners come during the day and won't notice there is issue.
The exterior home lights are solar powered going on and off with dark and light and will also brighten as you walk nearby. Do not flip the switches to turn them off.
The exterior of the home also has security cameras facing out towards the water and at the jet skis to protect us and the property from liability. Do not tamper with or cover these cameras during your stay.
Some closets are locked with our personal belongings. Do not enter.
Do not cross the fence at the water's edge for your safety.
Be sure when you leave all the towels and bedding are accounted for in the home. The black towels are for bathing and the others are for boating.
Strip beds and leave bedding in the floor of the room.
Put used towels on the bathroom floor.
Load the dishwasher, add detergent, push start TWICE and close so it will run no matter how many dishes are in it. They all must be run through the dishwasher to meet cleaning protocol for future guests. Do NOT just handwash.
Due to animals getting into the trash and it being a rural area with no garbage service, we have to ask that our guests carry all their garbage to the local dump. The closest one is off Glendale going towards Saltillo. You will go back to Glendale and take a right. Follow until you see the volunteer Fire Dept in Hookers Bend and the dump is right behind it. Please remove all garbage when you leave to avoid mice and pests invading the property.
Lock ONLY the deadbolts.
The crib and blow up mattresses are in the closet to the right when you walk in the queen room upstairs. There is bedding provided for all of the mattresses as well. Please return any used items back to this closet and add used bedding to the bedding for the cleaners to wash and dry.
Any missing or broken personal property or damage from dogs found by the cleaners will be billed accordingly.
Please understand that you are visiting a home near a river bank so there will be sandy dirt that gets tracked inside, bugs that sometimes come in when doors are opened, snakes that slither along the embankments, mice run through the brush, and other wildlife that you are sharing space with on our property. We do our best to keep them out of the home and clear from the space you will be utilizing but we still have a home amidst their environment. You may get to see them while you visit! Be mindful!
We look forward to your 5 STAR review and any private feedback and hope to host you again soon!
