House Rules
Guests agree to leave the cottage, including all furniture, fixtures, and chattels in the same state of repair and condition that they were in upon the start of the rental period.
Breakage or damage to inventory, canoes, equipment, or any other part of cottage property, above and beyond normal “wear and tear” will result in charges being billed to the registered guest.
Guests agree to maintain the tidiness of the cottage and its surroundings as it was upon check-in. Failure to do so will result in a $100 per hour charge for the time required to complete the cleaning.
INVENTORY AND EQUIPMENT
Guests agree to leave the cottage, including all furniture, fixtures, and chattels, in the same state of repair and condition that they were in upon the start of the rental period. Breakage or damage to inventory, equipment, or any other part of cottage property, above and beyond normal “wear and tear” will result in charges being billed to the registered guest.
LINENS AND TOWELS
Both beach and bath towels are provided for your convenience. They are inventoried after each guest, and any missing or excessively damaged towels will be charged back to the guest. Each bed is made with fresh linens upon arrival. Linens and towels are changed and cleaned between guests, not during a stay.
WATER, WASHROOM, AND SEPTIC
Our water comes from a cistern that we have filled on a regular basis. If, at any time, the water flow seems to become low, notify the property manager immediately. We try to be mindful of water waste and do our best to conserve.
Our cottage operates on a septic holding tank system. Please DO NOT dispose of anything other than toilet paper and natural waste in the toilets. There are trash bins provided in the washrooms for paper waste, feminine hygiene products, hair, etc. If any of this got into the system, it would back up into the cottage.
NOISE
The cottage is in a residential neighbourhood, and as such, guests are required to keep noise to a minimum after 11 PM.
CAMPFIRE
There is a campfire pit on the concrete deck for guests use. In the area there are many roadside stands where you may purchase firewood. If you choose to use the firepit, you must ensure it is extinguished before leaving it unattended. There is a spark screen provided for safety, it is recommended to be used at all times.
PARKING
There is sufficient parking for 2 to 3 vehicles on the property. There is no additional parking available in the area. Please consider this when making your travel arrangements.
POWER OUTAGES
Electrical power may be interrupted in the event of a storm or other weather occurrence. Please note that you may experience longer than normal wait times for power to be restored. Our suggestion is that you bring flashlights. Candles are NOT allowed in our cottage. Please note that during a power outage, we ask that you refrain from using the water system as it operates on an electric pump.
Any interruption in power will cause the bedroom lights in all rooms to turn on. This is a safety feature, and we are unable to adjust this.
BBQ
The cottage has a small BBQ that uses mini propane bottles found in camping and outdoor shops. Propane is not supplied but the local general store (3km) and Home Hardware (5km) both keep these items on hand.
SMOKING
There is absolutely NO SMOKING inside the cottage. Ashtrays are provided outdoors, please keep your litter contained.
PETS
Due to the allergies of the host, we only permit guests to bring dogs to the property. Dogs may be brought to the property with pre-approval only and must follow the house rules. Any guest who brings a dog must always have the dog with them or ensure the pet is secured in a crate for any time they are left unsupervised at the cottage.

BEFORE YOU LEAVE
We ask that you keep the cottage tidy using the supplies provided. The fridge/freezer and any food cabinets should be emptied upon departure.
GARBAGE
Garbage cannot be left outside of the cottage at ANY time. Garbage must be put into garbage bags and placed in secure bins on the front deck.
