Jim and Shawn have been visiting Edisto Island for 40 years. They purchased "Chaika" in the mid 90s for an investment when they sold their home in Kentucky and moved with their four children to live and serve in northern Kazakhstan. Upon returning to the Hidden they decided to hang onto the home and enjoy helping families and groups of friends have an affordable beach vacation and build memories together. "Chaika" is named after an old hotel in the city where they lived - it means "Seagull" in the Russian language.
