Eco-friendly, spacious downstairs apartment in a duplex log cabin. Enjoy extensive water views from inside and from the large porch. Youll have everything you need to hunker down in your own retreat only minutes from hiking trails and shopping. Theres even a climbing gym within walking distance.
We are proud to be a green vacation rental. Our electricity and 90% of HVAC is powered by solar panels. We use green cleaners and non-toxic shampoo and conditioner.
The rooms
*River View Room furnished with queen bed overlooking the water.
* Meadow View Room has a queen and bunk beds that can sleep up to 2 adults and 2 kids.
* The queen beds in both rooms are Sealy Posturepedic. All beds are made up with hotel quality 100% OEKO-TEX linens, which means they are certified to be free of harmful substances and made ethically in a certified, socially compliant and awarded factory.
* Living room / dining room with water views.
* Ample seaside porch runs along entire water side of house, with doors leading from River View Room and living room. The porch is furnished with Adirondack chairs as well as a small table for eating al fresco.
* Large fully equipped kitchen includes microwave, toaster oven, toaster, blender, coffee maker and plenty of pots, pans and dishes.
* Washer/dryer in basement for guest use.
Outside areas
* Enjoy a lobster feast or BBQ on the picnic table with all the accoutrements provided (melamine plates, cups, lobster pot, lobster crackers and picks). Then sit around the firepit, roast marshmallows, and tell tall tales. On a clear night you can see more stars than you can imagine, the milky way, and even shooting stars!
* The tidal Jordan River is just steps from the back porch, and has a put-in for kayaks and canoes. It is a short paddle from here into Frenchman Bay with gorgeous views of Mount Desert Island. (You can order boats delivered by a local outfit ahead of time and keep them here during your stay.)
This is a no-smoking facility. No smoking is allowed in the house or on the grounds.

I have loved Maine since I was a little girl and spent many summers traipsing around Mount Desert Island, playing in the surf, and hiking just about every mountain peak. I moved here full time after I retired a couple of years ago. Best thing I've ever done, and I can't wait to share the wonders of Acadia National Park with my guests.

Car is recommended but the free Island Explorer bus right down the street is a great way to see the park while avoiding the seasonal parking issues. Visit the Acadia National Park website https://www.nps.gov/acad/index.htm to plan your trip and purchase a park pass online.
Bangor airport is about an hour away, and the smaller Bar Harbor Airport is right down the street. Airport shuttles and taxis are available. You can catch Uber or Lyft from Bangor but they are less available near the Island.

House Rules
1. Government ID must match registration
2. Rental Party/Maximum Occupancy: The rental party shall be limited to the number listed on the rental reservation. The maximum number of guests is limited to 6 persons. At all times during rental period, Guest agrees to have no more than the allowed number of guests for occupancy (including children). If more than the stated number of guests are found to be occupying the unit, without prior written permission, Owner has the right to terminate this contract and Guest will forfeit all monies paid, including rent, cleaning, and deposits.
3. No smoking inside or on the grounds, and no cigarette butts in trash or on the grounds. Any violation of this rule will incur the cost of additional cleaning and odor removal.
4. No parties or events allowed.
5. Plumbing. We are on a septic system. Do not put grease or food down the drain. Only toilet paper may go into toilet – NO tampons, diapers, paper towels, plastics, pharmaceuticals or other solids.
6. Towels and Linens. Please be respectful of bed sheets and towels. Makeup/foundation, face medications/creams, and tanning products will stain white linens/towels. Black cosmetic washcloths have been provided for makeup removal. Guests are not to wash linens. Housekeeping will wash all laundry. Unsalvageable linens/bath towels will be charged to the guest.
7. Bunk beds/fire pit. Guest specifically accepts ALL liability for use of bunk beds and fire pit on the property and understands that Owner and Owner’s Agent shall have no liability from any accidents, injuries, or death that may result from the proper or improper use of said bunk beds or fire pit. Guest accepts said liability by voluntary use of said bunk beds or fire pit.
8. Fire pit. Follow the posted Fire Pit Safety Rules for use of fire pit.
9. Noise. Keep noise down after 10pm.
10. Pets. Guests who bring a pet will pay an additional pet fee, collected through the rental platform. Please use a dog bed or crate, and keep linens and furniture clean with one of the supplied Mexican blankets; also use a designated towel to wipe muddy paws. Keep your dog on a leash to protect it from wild animals and traffic. Clean up after your pet using a pet waste bag, and dispose in trash bin behind the garage; do not leave pet waste in the trash bins inside the apartment. Do not leave pet unattended in the rental. Guest is responsible for damages caused by pets or any other animal brought onto the property.
11. Service animals/assistance animals. The State of Maine provides for a fine of up to $1000 for knowingly misrepresenting any animal as a “service” or “assistance” animal when it does not meet the state’s statutory definition.
12. Wifi. By accessing the free wifi guests agree they will not: download illegal or copyrighted content; subscribe to any paid video channels; make any configuration, hard- or software changes to our internet infrastructure.
13. Condition of Property: Guest shall return the premises in the same condition as received. Rental of the property includes normal “turn” cleaning. Guest agrees they will be responsible for excessive additional cleaning if needed, and hereby agrees to have excessive cleaning deducted from their security deposit, at Owner’s sole discretion. Guest also agrees to leave the property in good condition with all items, furniture, etc. in the same place as where they found them upon move in.
