Our 1900 sf home is a historic home built in 1866 and furnished with antiques so you feel like youre experiencing old New Orleans, but was recently completely renovated so youll have all modern comforts, such as central heat and air, instant hot water and screaming-fast Wi-Fi.

The master suite has a king-sized canopy bed with mosquito netting, (with a Christopher Knight (tm) mattress -- the best sleep you'll ever have!), a separate seating area for two and a desk area. There is also a private ensuite bathroom with a clawfoot tub and separate rain shower. Comes with two comfy robes and slippers.

The second bedroom has a queen sized bed (also with a Christopher Knight (tm) mattress -- the best sleep you'll ever have!), and a brass bed . Blackout curtains and sheers and a ceiling fan. Separate lounge area for reading and a vanity table and chair. Comes with two comfy robes and slippers.

Getting around
We are in the historic Treme neighborhood and we are easy walking distance to the French Quarter (15 minutes) Frenchmen Street (15 minutes) and Jazz Fest (15 minutes). Also a 15 minute walk to many wedding venues and mansions on Esplanade Avenue such as The Degas House, Melrose Manson, The Benachi House. We are a fun and easy bike ride from the Marigny and Bywater neighborhoods as well as the Superdome. (There is a self-rent bike station 1/2 block from our house). You can take a share care or taxi and be uptown and the Garden District within 15 minutes.
The Treme neighborhood (or Faubourg Treme) is the birthplace of Jazz and the neighborhood established by "Free People of Color" and former enslaved people in 1841. According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune: "The neighborhood, which is viewed by many as ground zero of New Orleans culture, seems to be on an upswing as people have fallen in love with the area's diverse architecture and culture."

Our home has smart locks and you will be given your unique codes 24 hours prior to check-in with instructions.

No pets
No animals of any kind are allowed in the home or on the grounds. This includes all types of pets, service animals, therapy dogs, emotional support peacocks, "allergen free" or non-shedding breeds, etc. The owner of the property is highly allergic, and we are maintaining this as an allergen-free home. (We also don’t use any harsh chemicals, and use all natural cleaning products. There are no feathers or down in the pillows or comforters and we don't use scented candles or air fresheners in the home). We have a "niche" market of very allergic guests that stay in the house (I'm one of them!), and even "hypo-allergenic" and non-shedding breeds cause a problem for those with severe allergies. We are listed on a special travel website for those with allergies and it's imperative that no animal is EVER in the house or on the grounds to stay on that list.

No more than six guests sleeping in the three beds; No couch surfers or air mattresses allowed.
House Rules
Here is the harsh-sounding fine print required by "the suits" at our STR insurance company and the City of New Orleans.. (Please make sure to acknowledge that you have read and agree to these rules in your booking message):
1. You may not entertain anyone or have guests over who are not on the reservation -- only the registered guests are allowed on the property at all times -- that includes for dinner, a quick glass of wine, or a tour. Further, you must list the accurate number of guests in your reservation to make sure everyone is covered by insurance. That means unequivocally no parties or gatherings of any kind - including in the yard. This is strictly enforced. Should a guest disregard this rule they will forfeit their security deposit, they will be charged an additional cleaning fee and they will be charged a $50 extra guest fee for each person who entered the property, even if they did not stay overnight. (The extra guest fee is only $25 if booked in advance). Also note that you may be immediately evicted you with no credit given for unused nights and remove your profile from the platform and you will be banned for life! (Sounds harsh, but the insurance implications are astronomical, and we could lose our Short Term Rental Permit!).
2. Each of the guests must be sleeping in one of the beds in one of the booked bedrooms – no couch surfers, air mattresses, sleeping bags, etc. are allowed. This would be a violation of our STR Permit, and immediate eviction with no credit give for unused nights will occur.
3. No animals of any kind may enter the home or be on the grounds - this includes service animals/therapy dogs/emotional support peacocks, pets, "allergen free" or non-shedding breeds, etc. Note that this is a private home so we are not subject to the ADA. The owner of the property is highly allergic, and we are maintaining this as an allergen-free home. (We also don’t use any harsh chemicals, we don't use any scented candles or sprays in the house and use all natural cleaning products, and do not have any down or feather pillows or comforters in the home). We have a "niche" market of very allergic guests that stay in the house, and even "hypo-allergenic" and non-shedding breeds cause a problem for those with severe allergies. We are listed on a special travel website for those with allergies and it's imperative that no animal is EVER in the house or on the grounds to stay on that list. If you bring an animal you will be immediately evicted with no credit given for unused nights, you will forfeit your security deposit and a hypoallergenic steam cleaning fee of $1500.00 will be charged.
4. The house is not suitable for minors (below 18) or infants due to the furnishings and the fact that our hot water gets very hot, there are no window guards and there are stairs with no railings on the front steps, and other things that could be hazards to children. Therefore, we ask that you book a family--friendly listing instead of ours if you have children.
5. No smoking or vaping (anything) in the house, but you are welcome to smoke on the side porch or back deck.
6. No third-party reservations; i.e., the person whose profile has rented this home must be one of the guests present in the home for the entire reservation. Additionally, the primary renter must be at least 26 years of age.
7. I will be sending you a request through the portal for a $250 refundable damage deposit, which you will need to click "accept" for. These funds may be held up to 15 days after check-out and returned in full if no damage or violations occur. Otherwise, you will be provided photos and receipts of any damage and replacement cost thereof which will be deducted first from that deposit. You will also be liable for all damages over and above the $250, if applicable, and a claim will be made through the portal in the usual manner.
8. Please provide the first and last name and the cell phone number of each guest who will be staying in the home. This is required by the City of Nola as well as our STR insurance policy. We will also use this information to create a unique door code for each guest. We will only communicate with the primary guest.
9. Please note the cancellation policy on this listing. If you feel you are unable to abide by the house rules you may cancel this reservation penalty-free within 24 hours. Otherwise the cancellation policy will be strictly adhered to.
10. The homeowner reserves the right to enter the property in case of emergency, if there is a belief or risk that rules are being broken or if repairs are needed. All reasonable efforts will be made to schedule this at the guests’ convenience and comfort but if the guest does not respond to scheduling requests or does not allow entry within a reasonable time period the owner reserves the right to enter the property at their own discretion.
