Casa da Laurentina (@casadalaurentina) is one of the very few townhouses in Alvalade/Lisbon.
This 1951 gem underwent a complete overhaul in 2021 and features state-of the-art amenities, a private garden and large parking space .
On the ground floor, an open plan kitchen opens to a living and dining room with direct access to the garden. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
Lisbon CBD can be reached by metro, train, bus and the airport is 5 minutes away as are the major city exits.
The house, originally built in 1951, and in 2021 underwent a full renovation. Fitted with the state of the art fittings it has a strong renewable energy focus (solar panels heating the water and generating energy consumption).
In our family since it was built, Casa da Laurentina has been carefully maintained over the years to keep up with the present-day comforts while maintaining the original flare.
Laurentina, is the beer can giraffe that you will find in the living room. She was adopted by our family when we lived in Maputo/Mozambique and after a decade in Asia, and a few years in Scandinavia has migrated south to take care of the family heirlooms and host you while we are away.

I love Portugal and like simple but beautiful things, clean and organized. Over time have been building my favorite city, beach and country side (soon) escapes in Portugal, places to pile our family/friends bags/suitcases. Thus the name Malas a Montes (it means pile of bags) for my small portfolio of Portuguese properties - @malasamontes. When am away I like to share them with you. Getting around
If you intend to go out of town then I recommend that you have/rent a car to move around. You can park it inside the property. Whether you plan to explore the South of Portugal (Alentejo/Algarve), the North (Coimbra/Porto/Minho/Douro) or the surrounding areas (eg Sintra Cascais) the major road exits are just a few minutes away.
If you intend to explore the city then you can chill and use the many public transportation options that are a stone's throw away (Metro - Roma or Areeiro, Train - Roma/Areeiro, Bus - several options)

House Rules
THE OBVIOUS
Take care of the house exactly in the same way you would expect others to take care of yours and leave everything where you have found it.
Quiet times from 10pm to 8am
Use placemats or a towel on the wooden table - do not place your drinks directly on it (look for the mats on the chest of drawers)
Sort the garbage into the correct containers (see flyer on the door) and place the containers outside throughout the stay
No food or drinks on the sofa
No shoes in the bedrooms
No smoking inside and absolutely NO cigarette buts in the garden (dispose of them in the outside containers)
No unregistered guests or parties
No feeding of the street cats
CHECKING OUT/RETURNING THE REMOTE TO THE CAR GATE
Please return the furniture and decoration items to the place you found them. (the cleaning fee does not cover furniture rearrangement)
Leave the car gate remote to the place you found it (coat rack) in full working condition and with the two keys (failure to do so will lead to an immediate 250euros replacement fee)
Waste disposed of in the right container and containers are not completely full
HEATING
The heater is remotely operated (via wifi) and it will be set to a capped temperature during the winter period. Please contact Joana to adjust the temperature. Kindly refrain to touch the heating dashboard (failure to do so will lead to the immediate charge of all the technician fees to reset the dashboard).
LOCAL LAWS
Like in any hotel, under EU laws we have to ask you for your personal ID data and inform local authorities.
CAR PARKING
Please always park your car inside the house. The street as the street is for residents with a permit and on a regular basis the city services fine and tow the cars that do not have a resident permit.
POST/USE of ADDRESS
This is a short-term rental. Please refrain to use the address for any post, correspondence, or official matters. Organize the reception of items strictly through courier during your stay.
LONG STAYS
For longer stays (30 days and above): Be mindful of electricity consumption. Consumption above 350kwa per month will be charged in addition to the monthly fee.
PET Policy
ONE DOG (ONLY) will be considered subject to acceptance of the rules (only stays on the ground floor, does NOT go to the bedrooms, and does not stay on the sofa) and the payment of the pet fee
GARDEN MAINTENANCE
We strive to keep the house in the best possible shape to welcome our guests. The garden requires regular upkeeping for which I have contracted professional services. As a security deposit alternative, houfyProtect, an upfront nonrefundable low cost property damage protection policy for just $5 per night, is taken at time of booking.
Cancellation Policy
If canceled more than 60 days before arrival a full refund is provided. If canceled more than 30 days 50before arrival 50% refund. No refunds for cancelations made less than 30 days before arrival
