KidSenses Interactive Childen&#x27;s Museum is located in downtown Rutherfordton, NC. Hours are Tuesday - Saturday (9-5). Active military, and seniors at least 62, pay $6. All others pay $8. A few exhibits are Kid&#x27;s Pueblito Cafe, Discovery Garden, and Little Family Dollar Store, along with many more to choose from.

Hands On! Children&#x27;s Museum is an interactive museum for kids to enjoy with their families.  It is located in downtown Hendersonville.

Hands On! Children&#x27;s Museum is an interactive museum for kids to enjoy with their families. It is located in downtown Hendersonville. Children under one are free. All others pay a $5 admission. Hours are Tuesday - Saturday 10-5. Kids can enjoy playing with exhibits such as Post Office, Grocery Store, Pet Vet Hospital, and many more. There are 14 exhibits total.

The Mountains Branch Library is less than five miles from the cabin.  Free wifi is available for visitors and residents alike; it is also accessible

The library has entertainment for families with children: board games, puzzles, puppets and a puppet theater, Lego kits, and more. They also provide a selection of magazines and newspapers. Restrooms, computers, printers, and a fax machine are available. Their Community Room has an ongoing &quot;Friends of the Library Book Sale.&quot; There are hundreds of like new, and gently used books and DVDs for sale. Paperbacks are a quarter, and hardbacks and movies are one dollar. Each Thursday from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. is Preschool Family Storytime (stories, songs, movement, and crafts). All library materials, including books, DVDs, Explore Outdoor Backpacks, board games, storytime kits, and learning tablets can be checked out. Keep in mind that non-residents will need to apply for a $20 card (only if you would like to check out items from the library). The public can visit and make use of the facilities for free. Check out their Faceboook page, to see if there are any kid activities scheduled during your stay:

The owner, Peggy, created The Right Track Toy Train Museum, as a tribute to her late husband who passed away from pancreatic cancer. Peggy&#x27;s husband was an avid train collector, and now Peggy uses his collection as a means to raise awareness for pancreatic cancer. There is even a play room for toddlers to enjoy. Don&#x27;t forget to stop and have a friendly chat with Peggy. All proceeds from the small admission fee, are donated to pancreatic cancer research. Great kid activity for a rain day. During horse show season (Spring thru Fall), there is typically a Saturday Night Lights event. Bring the entire family to enjoy live music, food vendors, games, face painting, and unlimited carousel rides. Admission, parking, and activities are all FREE. The family activities typically begin two hours before the Grand Prix starts. Check their calendar to confirm which dates this event will be taking place.

The park has a play area for children, if the little ones need to run around for a while; there is also a one mile path to walk or jog. Many visitors come to the park to fish along the Rocky Broad River; keep in mind to abide by local fishing rules, and you will need to purchase a fishing license. Or just stop by to relax, bring a lunch, and people watch.
