NOW for THE FUN: The Summit Dily is the free local Summit paper in the blue newspaper kiosks spread around the town. They list a lot of local activites and sometimes discounts at the local restaurants. The

Summit County Winter Activitiy Book’ & Dining/Restaurant Book will be at the house > Dec 12th; and is also available at the Breck Welcome Center @ 203 S. Main St Breck, or in boxes around town, and possibly in the entrance of Citi Market and Safeway. Also check out www.gobreck.com for activites and happenings.

Summit buses are free.

Parking/driving: Obey the speeds and parking signs! (Breck doesn’t get much crime, so the police need to keep busy in other ways). Town and skiing are just a short walk and usually easier to navigate then parking. If you prefer to drive though, park in town at the Riverwalk Center, along Main Street or Ridge St and their parking lots. Skiers can walk down the hill or down the Marriott’s drive (approximately 3 minutes) to the Quick Silver Lift or the Village Childrens Ski Center. The gondola provides quick access to Peak 7 or Peak 8 and the Terrain Park. Skiers can pay for the gondola lot (go inside the gondola office for discounts on multiple days) or use the free lot with shuttle to the gondola.

Prepare a dish in their commercial kitchen and enjoy the buffet. (we’ve done several, such as Sicily, Italian Alps, Bread-making, Cheese-making, Holiday Favorites.)

Restaurants: there are a lot of good ones in the area, but when the mountain is busy, reservations are a good idea. Many of the restaurants have menus online.

Some of our favorite restaurants in town are: Mia Casa--Mexican, Empire--burgers, The Dredge or Kenosha--steaks, Hearthstone, Briar Rose, La Petit Paris--nice entrees, Embers--American/vegetarian, Relish-- Colorado-inspired foods, Crown Café or Daylight Donuts or The Blue Moose—breakfast, Mountain Flying Fish-- sushi and Japanese, Burke & Riley’s Pub--great pub food & Irish beer, Blue Stag--pizza or casual, Breck Brewery-- great bear and sports TV.
